Crime with Consequences is an industry-wide campaign under the broader No Second Chances brand. This time, designed to tackle the growing challenge of railway trespass and reinforce that entering the railway without permission is both dangerous and a criminal offence.

Developed in partnership with organisations across the rail industry and British Transport Police, the campaign supports a renewed focus on enforcement, public awareness and behaviour change. It forms part of a wider effort to reduce the significant impact trespass is having on railway performance, passenger journeys and public safety.

This phase focuses on deliberate and reckless trespass on the railway. Many people view trespass as a minor offence and underestimate the legal consequences of their actions or believe the risks do not apply to them.

The campaign challenges these misconceptions by highlighting the reality of increased enforcement, rising prosecution rates and the serious consequences of being caught. It reinforces the link between trespass and the wider disruption it causes, from train delays and cancellations to the risks it creates for passengers, railway workers and those involved.

Its message is simple: Trespass is a crime and there are consequences.

These campaigns are no longer live or being promoted to public and passengers. However, if you would like to use these resources please ask permission from Network Rail’s marketing team: marketing@networkrail.co.uk
